\n\tThis is the last formal week in school for Years 11, 12 and 13 as they start their examination period. Students are taking IGCSE, AS and A2 exams during the next six weeks and we wish them every success. Apart from returning to sit the exams we will see them in school at the request of their teachers as they attend revision sessions. When the exam period is over we have the Graduation Ceremony for Year 13 at the Sutera Theatre on the 10<\/span>th<\/span> June and Year 12 will be back in school for Careers Days. This will be followed by work experience before they return to school to commence their Year 13 studies during the last week of term. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tYesterday we celebrated our final assembly with all of Secondary together. We said our farewells to our leavers from Year 11 and Year 13 and also spoke about the 24+ students who will be entering Year 12 in August, our biggest cohort since we started the A Level programme six years ago. We also presented some merit certificates. Unfortunately our 8K class missed out on receiving their certificates at the end of last term so we made sure we acknowledged their achievements, in addition to those students who were absent previously and so couldn’t receive their awards. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGlobal Citizensh<\/b>\"\"<\/a>ip Award<\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the assembly we also paid tribute to some individual students who have shown particular qualities of Global Citizenship this year. We have instituted a new Award, the <\/span>KIS Global Citizenship Award<\/b>. Staff, students and parents were asked to nominate worthy students and the trophy this year goes to <\/span>Miche Sappia<\/b> in Year 13, a very worthy winner. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the words of one teacher who nominated her <\/span>“<\/span><\/i>I would like to nominate Miche Sappia for the Global Citizenship Award, due to her consistent hard work and leadership of the Student Council.<\/span><\/i> I believe that she has shown herself to be a Global Citizen by working to support the KIS community, the local community (her work and organisation of the Christmas Angels and Chinese New Year gifts with KK care homes), and her efforts at the Christmas Fair (for example) in helping raise money for charity. <\/span><\/i> Miche liaises with several groups in order to promote equality and opportunities for all – SLT, PTA, Student Council and her peers. She works collaboratively on all projects and has reflected on the success of all events and ideas so far.”<\/span><\/i>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMiche has proven herself to be a caring and responsible member of our community, supportive always of others and going out of her way to improve things for others. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCongratulations Miche! <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition <\/span>Cassidy Shim, Dania Danny Iswandy<\/b> from Year 12 and <\/span>Jessenia Murison<\/b> from Year 11 received Glo<\/span>bal Citizenship certificates in recognition of their efforts as global citizens.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWe would like to congratulate Miche, Cassidy, Dania and Jessenia and thank them for all their efforts as Global Citizens!<\/b>\n<\/p>\n
