One student from the Primary School and one from Secondary will be selected by the Senior Leadership Team from nominees put forward by the community.<\/p>\n<p>The profile of the selected student must be aligned with the school\u2019s vision of Global Citizenship:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A global citizen understands that we are all connected, upholds the values of equality and actively contributes to the development of a better world.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Global Citizens<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00b7 have an awareness of the wider world and a sense of their own role within it<br \/>\n\u00b7 respect and value diversity<br \/>\n\u00b7 are committed to social justice, equality and sustainability<br \/>\n\u00b7 participate in the community at a range of levels, from local to global<br \/>\n\u00b7 take responsibility for their actions<\/p>\n<p><strong>Global Citizenship involves:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00b7 Enquiring, discussing, thinking critically, reflecting and collaborating<br \/>\n\u00b7 Exploring the complexity of global issues and engaging with multiple perspectives<br \/>\n\u00b7 Applying learning to real-life issues and contexts<br \/>\n\u00b7 All ages and all areas of the curriculum<br \/>\n\u00b7 The whole school community<\/p>\n<p><strong>So, who are we looking for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are probably looking for a student who has a high profile in school in terms of leadership. The person could be an Eco-Warrior\/Student Council member\/Charity Committee member\/Prefect etc. [but does not have to be]. This is a person who is organised and at the forefront when events are being lead and managed. He\/she has the capacity to build teams and bring people together, and has demonstrated this ability. They are reliable. They treat others equally and respectfully and are not afraid to identify and challenge unfairness when they see it. They are KIS community-minded but also think of others outside of the walls of the school. They can delegate but will shoulder major burdens themselves.
