Dear Parents & Guardians,<\/p>\n

Please take the time to read through this week’s PE & Sports News\u00a0(https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/from-the-head-of-pe-sport-02-03-19<\/a>)\u00a0to see just how well our U13s did last week in Phuket. Four trophies I believe and a bag of medals, well done to all. Another FOBISIA trip is currently underway in Penang with our Drama group. I look forward to hearing how they get on. Year 4 had a day out of school earlier this week developing their Art appreciation skills. Year 6 have also been in Penang for the past week, having a wonderful time exploring and discovering, and more students will be away soon for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. A huge thank you to all of our staff on the trips making sure all goes smoothly.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week we had another practice for our evacuation procedures at school and will be conducting similar practices throughout the remainder of the year. I am very pleased to see all of our students and staff calmly leaving the buildings and waiting quietly at their muster points.<\/p>\n

Later on this month on Wednesday 20th<\/sup> March we will be continuing with our monthly coffee mornings, Drop-Off & Drop In. The focus this month has been requested by some of our Primary parents.\u00a0We will be discussing and explaining the Secondary school option choice process for IGCSE and A levels; there will also be an opportunity as usual for you to raise questions for the School Leadership Team.<\/p>\n

With the weather remaining hot for the time being, a reminder for students to be wearing their hats\u00a0and bringing water bottles that\u00a0can be refilled at school throughout the day. Staff will keep an eye on the temperature and if it becomes too hot to be outside safely for sport we will of course make alternative arrangements.<\/p>\n

I hope you can see we are back in to the routines of a busy school schedule, although please understand our thoughts and prayers are still with Nicholas and his family. Whilst we have concluded much of our own investigations, we are still waiting to hear from the local authorities. At this time we are now looking to the future with whatever we can learn from this tragedy to support both ourselves and other schools.<\/p>\n
