{"id":5681,"date":"2017-01-18T10:32:09","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T02:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/?p=5681"},"modified":"2018-05-20T11:34:51","modified_gmt":"2018-05-20T03:34:51","slug":"5681-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/5681-2\/","title":{"rendered":"KIS Achieves Council of International School&#8217;s Reaccreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kinabalu International School was delighted to learn recently that they had been successful in achieving a reaccreditation of the globally-respected Council of International School\u2019s (CIS) status.<\/p>\n<p>Last November, as part of a 5 Year Review process, the school hosted two representatives from the Council of International Schools, who visited the school for three days. They met with students, staff, parents and Board of Management members, observing lessons and inspecting the school generally. They were particularly interested in looking at how the school had grown and developed since the last CIS team visit in 2011.<br \/>\nThe team commended the school on many aspects of its operations and, as one would expect, made some recommendations for further improvement. In particular the report credited the school for its comprehensive and appropriate action plans to guide future development of the school, the family atmosphere of an international community that promotes intercultural learning and appreciation and for creating the Sixth Form for A Level students and running it successfully.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Alan Connah, Principal, commented: \u201cThis is an excellent outcome for our school. The Council of International School accreditation assesses the school against a strict set of international standards covering every aspect of school life, both inside and outside of the classroom.
