This followed a painstaking year-long self-review that involved staff, students, parents and members of the Board of Management. A number of targets across a range of school areas came out of the initial review, and the First Report on Progress and Planning that happened in 2012 reported back on these to CIS.<\/p>\n<p>Three years later we are now commencing another review which will lead to a CIS team visiting the school in September\/October 2016, to look at how we have grown and developed since 2012 and how we have made progress in specific areas. Fundamentally, CIS looks to see whether we are doing what we say we are doing. In phase 1 all teaching and support staff will be involved in teams, led by staff team members; starting on the 11th November they will be reviewing the targets from 2012 and producing evidence to decide whether those aspects are \u2018In Progress\u2019 or \u2018Complete\u2019. Phase 2, starting in January, will involve those same teams constructing Action Plans for any goals that are deemed to be \u2018In Progress\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The CIS Accreditation 5 Year Review will be led by Margaret Renshaw\u00a0and Maria Blake\u00a0who\u00a0are tasked with co-ordinating everybody\u2019s efforts in producing the final report and compiling all of the necessary evidence to support the school\u2019s thinking.<\/p>\n<p>CIS Accreditation is a top priority for KIS this year and that is why it is at the forefront of our School Development Plan; all of the staff and the BOM will come together in a process that we take very seriously with the ultimate goal of having our Accreditation ratified for a further five years from 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2011 we received the welcome news that KIS had been awarded full Accreditation by the Council of International Schools.
