Maths Day is coming up this Thursday! It will be an exciting day filled with a variety of thrilling Maths challenges! Children are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite mathematician or in a creative outfit featuring symbols and numbers. Let your creativity shine as we celebrate the wonderful world of mathematics!<\/span><\/p>\n

Last Friday, our Year 1 embarked on a thrilling <\/span>discovery<\/span> tour guided by our teachers and outdoor education specialists. From navigating nature trails to learning about the flora and fauna and making shelters:<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\u201cAs part of our Adventure Awaits topic, Last week Year 1 set out on an adventure of their very own. Like the significant explorers we have been learning about throughout history, the children gained some of their own survival skills at Field Skills Activity Centre in Kiulu Valley.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

We began our trip by boarding a bus to take us all the way into the countryside and after arriving the children were excited to meet their wonderful guides Hanry, Nany, Vice and Myriam. At first, the guides took us on an educational\u00a0 walk to learn all about the leaves and flowers and their healing properties for things such as soap, curing headaches, stopping a cut bleeding and easing food poisoning.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Next the children got really stuck in by making and decorating their own shelters out of natural materials, like sticks and huge banana leaves. They learned other basic survival skills such as how to safely drink water by making their own water filter cup out of a leaf. Lastly, the children all watched in awe as our guides made a fire just from using bamboo, coconut husk and dry leaves. We were all so impressed and gathered some leaves ourselves to add to the fire.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It was a day filled with energy, teamwork, and unforgettable moments as our students showcased their athletic prowess and sportsmanship.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day was a series of thrilling events, including house chants and tug-of-war competitions. Each event was met with cheers and applause, as our students demonstrated not only their physical abilities but also their unwavering support for one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was Inspiring to witness the sportsmanship on display, as students cheered on their classmates, celebrated victories, and embraced the joy of participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

We extend our gratitude to all the teachers, staff, and Year 10 students who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the event. The biggest thank you must go to Ms Watt for organising the logistics of the day. Her dedication and enthusiasm truly made Sports Day a resounding success!<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally this week, we were happy to welcome Ms. Bryce back to the school to reassume her role as 5S class teacher. However, we would also like to thank Mrs. Schrijver. <\/span>We are very grateful for the support we received from Mrs. Schrijver during her time as a teacher in the 5S class. Mrs. Schrijver’s dedication and commitment to our students have been truly outstanding. She seamlessly stepped into the role, providing guidance, support, and inspiration to the children.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our assembly theme this week was \u2018Counselling and Confidentiality\u2019. We emphasised the significance of seeking support when needed and the assurance of confidentiality in our counselling services.
