In the words of the short-lived but still loved band ‘Wizard’ “I wish it could be Christmas everyday”.<\/p>\n

This week saw the Primary Christmas sing-a-longs take place, which were a roaring success with students putting on two outstanding performances. Thank you to Mrs. Bryant and the Primary team for your efforts with this. Across the school Christmas decorations have been put up (thank you PTA for making the school look so festive) and many students have been busy making their own decorations to bring home.<\/p>\n

These events and more have\u00a0made it feel as if the festive season is well and truly upon us. The community spirit,\u00a0great performances and general atmosphere of revelry has certainly left me feeling like I wish\u00a0it could be Christmas everyday.
\n<\/p>\n

The festive period has different meanings for different people. For many it is a brilliant opportunity to spend time with friends and family and enjoy one another’s company. While I encourage everyone to take the time to rest, relax and recharge in the company of friends and family, I also encourage you all to take the time to look ahead to the new year.<\/p>\n

Term 2 and 3 at KIS are shaping up to be just as busy as Term 1, with many exciting events, activities and developments coming our way.<\/p>\n

Two big changes taking place will be the additions of two new teachers coming directly from the UK. Year 6 will be split into two forms (6K and 6S) from January and Ms. Emma Bateman will be joining us as the second Year 6 teacher. Ms. Emily Bearman will be joining KIS as a Secondary English Teacher. Please see a short introduction from the new team below:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nHi everyone, I am Emma and I am from Devon in the United Kingdom. Currently, I am a Primary School teacher and have been for the past 7 years. My hobbies include hiking and anything that involves Musical Theatre. I am looking forward to getting stuck into life at KK. See you all in the new year!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Emily Bearman<\/em>
\nHi everyone, I’m Emily. I am from a little seaside town just outside of London in the South East of England. I’ve been working for the past 6 years as Literacy Lead, Curriculum Lead and Second in English across two different Secondary schools – helping students and staff to find their passion for reading, creative writing and finding their voice to express ideas. I am interested in yoga, fitness, music and dance and love exploring outdoors. I am excited to meet new people, try some of the local traditions and delicacies and can’t wait to see the nature and sights of Kota Kinabalu!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With new staff joining us and a busy two terms ahead, 2024 is shaping up to be a great year.<\/p>\n

Between now and then, please do take the time to be a part of the festive period, enjoy the events taking place, spend time with friends and family and make the most of feeling like it’s Christmas everyday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
