[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As I write this, I am fortunate to be in Singapore attending the FOBISIA Heads of PE Annual Conference with a central theme of \u201cwhy we do, what we do\u201d, where all matters of PE and Sport are being discussed including evaluating and reflecting on our current set up for the FOBISIA Games and other sports invitational events, as well as how we can continue to promote the sharing of best practice amongst colleagues across the FOBISIA family.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The trip also includes two days of jam-packed CPD on all manner of topics on Physical Education and Sport from creating an engaging and effective early years programme to how we best support our examination Physical Education students in achieving great results or supporting well-being and athlete development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As a founding member of FOBISIA, KIS benefit tremendously from being part of an extensive network of now nearly 100 schools which presents outstanding opportunities for staff to come together with other professionals in our areas of specialty. These events are invaluable in allowing us to share in new and innovative ideas to help continue to grow and shape our learning environment, examining the <\/span>WHAT, WHY and HOW<\/span><\/i> of learning in PE to help create the best opportunities for our students.<\/span><\/p>\n

KIS U15 Basketball Invitational<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Saturday our U15 FOBISIA Vipers had the opportunity to test their current match readiness in a series of friendly matches against both visiting schools St Francis and Maktab Nasional as well as a \u2018KIS Select\u2019 Team.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sadly, wet weather forced the location of the tournament to move inside and the adoption of a 4 v 4 format, but that didn\u2019t effect the quality of the basketball on display or the enthusiasm of both the players and spectators alike.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The girls opened the tournament against St Francis with a high scoring win of 50-36 where the team showcased some fantastic offensive team work led by Pui San (10K) who scored 24 points. The St Francis team had a strong last quarter spurred on by some very vocal cheering but it wasn\u2019t enough and KIS Vipers took out the game. It was fantastic to see the growth and development of so many of the players from where they were 4 months ago during our last tournament and I am excited to see them compete next month at the FOBISIA Games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
