Whilst we celebrated on Friday, I am well aware of the weeks of effort that have gone in to so many of these inspiring projects and challenges. A huge thank you to Mrs Fulat and Mr Colbeck for arranging the day and making sure all went as planned. Thank you to all staff and students for making the event such a memorable day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week our secondary music students gave a stunning recital and our primary students all had the chance to experience their classes for next year, with Year 6 spending three days in the secondary school. Even though we are an all through school, we believe in supporting our students to understand where they are aiming for and how that might look in each part of their educational journey. It is important they feel confident and secure with what comes next. The transition days allow our students to experience this and give them an opportunity to ask questions and understand more. Studies support our process and show how children who have the opportunity for transition days, settle more quickly and adapt to their new learning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next week, we support our older students with their impending transition to university. Ms Colbeck will be working with senior students across Years 10 and 12 to prepare them for university and beyond. With just one week to go, so much is planned to make it a great last week of the school year. Year 6 will be rounding off the year with their postponed trip and we also look forward to the talents of our students as KIS Has Talent returns. Our last day will be a celebration of the year with our End of Year assemblies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In staffing news, we come to the end of the year and say farewell to some of our TLAs, Miss June Wong will be working more closely with family, Miss Esther Chow will be focussing her time on her own art business and Miss Emery Joy will be taking on a promoted position in KK. We wish them all well in their new adventures and thank them all for all they have done for our KIS community. In other news, Miss Kerry Bagiu will be teaching BM next year and Miss Rebecca Chin will be teaching in our EYFS. Miss Moana Bagiu will be moving to the Primary library. We will also be welcoming four new TLAs for next year: Miss Dyane Justin, Miss Edna Albert, Miss Eudora Danny and Miss Connie Julian returns to KIS.
