[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Macbeth<\/strong>\u2026..well, all of the massive anticipation of this major school event was well justified. On Wednesday and Thursday evening about 250 friends, parents and staff were kept enthralled by the action in the hall. This production had everything: atmosphere (the smoke machine was particularly appreciated by the younger members of the audience), super-tense moments which kept us holding our collective breath, comedy (almost slapstick at times) and brilliant performances from all (reflecting the hundreds of hours of rehearsal time and the natural talent of our students).<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Macbeth was written in 1607 and first published in 1623. Four hundred years later I think William Shakespeare would have been as thrilled as we all were to see his work transformed\u00a0\u00a0 through the creative genius of Mr Simon Bryant into a performance which held the audience as spellbound as it did its first Elizabethan audience all those centuries ago.<\/p>\n

The whole enterprise would not have been possible without a whole group of back-stage volunteers and professional teams who worked together on stage management, props, programmes, posters, ticketing, videography, make-up. In addition, the Charity Committee, led by Pik Yen, made sure that we were provisioned with pizza and popcorn, and in doing so they raised over 800RM for charity.<\/p>\n

This was the first major school drama production for a few years, and I am sure there will be more to come.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all involved, especially Mr Bryant!<\/p>\n
