As usual, their energy was high and the children really enjoyed watching the different cultural dances being presented. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 hall, to the delight of the students, staff and parents in attendance. Our staff from across the school attempted to replicate this superb dancing, but we all feel that in comparison our dancing was nowhere near as good. It was a lovely celebration of the Kaamatan festival and the children really enjoyed taking part.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark Beresford<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Head of KS2<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Y2 went on a trip as part of their topic on Toys.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This term, the Year 2&#8217;s topic has been &#8216;The Toy Maker&#8217;. Over the past few weeks, the children have been investigating, designing, making and testing their own games. They have been learning about various forces that create motion and have implemented them in their games. The trip to MyBowl was for the children to consolidate their knowledge of these motions and games in real life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21302\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Y2-TRIP.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Additionally, the children were excellent as a whole year group and as the children will transition into new classes next year, they showed support, teamwork, competition and challenged each other with the various activities they took part in. We all had a fabulous day and the Year 2s came away with even more creative ideas for games they could make in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt Hayward<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The week ended with a Showcase from Year 3.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year 3 sung their hearts out at their showcase on Friday. Beginning with a rap, which was tricky to master, then singing in a round to teach parents about the different types of rocks and, finally, a parody of Rick Astley&#8217;s &#8216;Never Gonna Give You Up&#8217; which was all about dinosaurs. Your child will take part in one or more transition sessions to prepare them for this move. These transition sessions are important as we need to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure children are happy and confident about the move<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promote emotional security<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give students an awareness of expectations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give students an opportunity to ask any questions they may have<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepare children for a new environment and help them to adapt.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For many children moving onto the next year group will not be an issue but for those who need a bit of extra reassurance, we hope that the transition arrangements we have planned will provide the support needed (more information to follow). To help, you can talk to your child about how they feel about the move and if they have any concerns then encourage them to speak to their class teacher and\/or help them to prepare a list of questions for their transition sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>This week\u2019s Trashless Class winners are Y1.
