This will involve all year groups currently in school, from F1 to Year 10, and we hope that staff and parents will also get involved as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this event is to encourage everyone to be more generous and thoughtful to those around us, to help KIS to continue its mission of creating a caring and respectful learning community and lastly, to have some fun, for this is Random Acts of Kindness with a twist!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RANDOM-ACTS-OF-KINDNESS.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RANDOM-ACTS-OF-KINDNESS.png 780w, https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RANDOM-ACTS-OF-KINDNESS-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RANDOM-ACTS-OF-KINDNESS-768x285.png 768w, https:\/\/www.kis.edu.my\/kisnewsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RANDOM-ACTS-OF-KINDNESS-255x94.png 255w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each student will draw a name from a hat. This will be their \u2018secret target\u2019 that they will have to hunt down to carry out their specific \u2018Kindness Challenge\u2019. They will all be paired with someone from a different year group so finding their target will take some skilled detective work and, hopefully, help to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the different sections of the school.<\/p>\n<p>Once their first challenge has been completed and verified by their teachers, they can then carry on picking as many names as they like and continue to spread the joy! None of the challenges we have set will involve buying anything for anyone, but some of them will require a little creativity and ingenuity. However, the most important thing is to remind ourselves that it only takes a small gesture to make someone\u2019s day.<\/p>\n<p>As I said, this event isn\u2019t just for our students, but for our whole community. We are, and always have been, a school that is built on kindness and respect for others. So, the more that our parents, guardians and staff get involved, the more we will all benefit from the altruism and generosity that should, and often does, reflect our school spirit. This isn\u2019t about competing with each other to win prizes; it\u2019s about reaching out and showing a little kindness, just because we can.<\/p>\n<p>If you have been a recipient of an Act of Kindness that has made your day &#8211; share it! Each week during this event, we will be asking students, parents and staff to share (anonymously, if you prefer) how someone has made you smile, brightened your day or generally just made your life easier. border_width=&#8221;3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>YEARBOOK COVER ART COMPETITION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In recent weeks, our whole community came together to find the amazing artwork that will adorn the front and back cover of this year\u2019s edition of the KIS Yearbook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We had many wonderful entries and over 200 people, ranging from staff, students and members of the wider KIS community, cast their votes and made history in selecting the winning designs for the yearbook cover.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the 50th anniversary celebration Gala dinner, the winners were revealed, but we\u2019d like to take this opportunity to share the results with you all and celebrate the hard work and talents of these students again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please join me in congratulating the following students:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
