[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I do hope that everybody had a wonderful term break. The first week back of Term 3 has been excellent, with a very high attendance rate, and lots going on. On Tuesday the Safeguarding Team meet as usual, and we discussed the upcoming Drop-Off and Drop-In Safeguarding and Child Protection Coffee Morning. More information will be sent out next week. On Wednesday morning we had all the Secondary students in the hall for a rapid 20 minute assembly, led by Ms McPherson, where she talked about Earth Week, starting with \u2018Meat Free Monday\u2019, and with a different theme each day. Well done to Ms McPherson and the Eco Warriors for developing, planning and organising this initiative!<\/p>\n

The Holy month of Ramadan is a time to reflect upon and show compassion for the poor and less fortunate. Over the past few years, the KIS community has generously donated rice to the Masjid<\/em>\u00a0Nurul Hikmah\u00a0Mosque<\/em>, near to the school. This year the MFL department would like to continue this tradition and as such we will be collecting bags of rice, to be distributed for Hari Raya. \u00a0Please consider donating rice for this worthy cause; donations can be left at the guard house until next Wednesday, the 19th<\/sup> April<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The IGCSE and A Level exams are rapidly approaching and in the Secondary Staff Meeting on Wednesday Mr Colbeck led us through the compulsory Cambridge Examinations invigilator training. The rules are very stringent and are designed to ensure absolute clarity and fairness to the students who are sitting the exams each day. Study Leave starts on the 26th<\/sup> April. During the following weeks the students and teachers will organise study \/ revision sessions in school to ensure that all are fully prepared to sit the papers. On Tuesday next week I will be talking to all Year 11, 12 and 13 students about study leave, and what it will entail.<\/p>\n
