SECONDARY HOUSE NEWS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The House Team have delivered another action packed term with House activities and I thank you all for your efforts.<\/p>\n

A quick summary of some of the competitions\/events that have not been reported:<\/p>\n

#5 Six Word Story placings are as follows:<\/p>\n

1st place: Gaya – Sharan Babrah (9S)<\/p>\n

2nd place: Sapi – Fion Ho (7S)<\/p>\n

3rd place: Sulug – Julia Aveline-Rabenjoro (10S)<\/p>\n

HOUSEPOINT TOTAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]It has been an amazing term and so many housepoints have been awarded each week to all our students throughout Primary. The battles have been close every week and this final week of Term 2 was no exception!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Collectively, Primary earned an impressive <\/span>879 housepoints<\/b> and 3 classes (Year 3, 4 and 5) shared the class victory as they earned an average of <\/span>6 housepoints each<\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n

For our House team totals, the battle was close with only a few points separating the winning House.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The housepoints awarded to each team was:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 3rd place with <\/span>290 <\/b>housepoints is<\/span> Sapi<\/b>!<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2nd place with <\/span>293 <\/b>housepoints is <\/span>Sulug<\/b>!<\/b><\/p>\n

In 1st place with <\/span>296 <\/b>housepoints is <\/span>Gaya<\/b>!<\/b><\/p>\n

Our congratulations go to <\/span>Gaya Pangolin<\/b>s who clinched the victory in this final week of Term 2!!<\/span><\/p>\n

We also used the weekly totals, as well as those earned from our special events throughout Term 2 to find out who is the overall winner of Term 2! The grand total of <\/span>13,882 housepoints<\/b> shows just how hard Primary have worked this term! What an amazing achievement by all our fabulous students!<\/span><\/p>\n

This grand total gave us the following House totals for Term 2:<\/span><\/p>\n

YEARBOOK ART COMPETITION<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Calling all artists! Will you be the student to create the next Yearbook cover for this school year?<\/span><\/p>\n

We are launching our annual competition to find the winning cover design for this years’ Yearbook!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As we are celebrating the school’s 50th Birthday, the yearbook cover you design should reflect this milestone as you creatively represent <\/span>CELEBRATIONS<\/b> in your artwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You can use any medium (digital, water colour, collage, mixed medium) to create your artwork and one winning design from Primary AND Secondary will be chosen to feature on the front and back cover of our 2022-2023 Yearbook!<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been wonderful to share in all the fun you have had completing each weekly challenge set and I cannot wait to see the contributions you make to the exciting challenges we have coming up next term! We will be back in Term 3 with more challenges for you to complete!<\/span><\/p>\n

In our last Term 2 challenge, \u201cA Slice of Pi\u201d, many students took up the different Pi themed activities and created some fabulous artwork, jewellery, sweet treats and even showed their amazing memory skills! Well done to everyone who took part. A special shout out to our Sulug Sharks who were the Dojo Challenge Champions in the final challenge this term!<\/span><\/p>\n

Our final morning of this term was spent working with our House teams as we participated in a multitude of fabulous activities planned out by our wonderful Primary staff. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see all the activities being completed across the school and it was great to see the children participating in challenges that focussed on problem solving, team work, physical challenges as well as creative and artistic tasks. Housepoints were awarded for participation, creativity, perseverance and House spirit!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was a close battle but <\/span>Sulug Sharks<\/b> were victorious after the challenges they faced all morning, with a grand total of 1,323 housepoints! Well done <\/span>Sulug Sharks<\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n

Many thanks to the Primary staff, without whom these special events would not be possible, They certainly ensured that Term 2 ended with an event that will provide our students with more happy memories to add to their time at KIS!<\/span><\/p>\n
