During Safer Internet Day, various organisations, including schools, governments, and non-profits, participate in events and activities that highlight the importance of online safety and security. We will be discussing the importance of staying safe online with your children next Tuesday but here are some tips to help you ensure your children have a safer online experience:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supervise their internet use and monitor their online activities regularly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teach your children to never share personal information, such as full name, address, phone number, or financial information, with strangers online.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Encourage them to only use websites, apps, and social media platforms that are age-appropriate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Talk to your children about the potential dangers of cyberbullying and how to respond if they or someone they know is being bullied online.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Explain the importance of being mindful of the information and content they post online, as it can have long-lasting effects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set limits on the amount of time your children can spend online and make sure they take breaks to engage in other activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discuss online privacy and security and encourage your children to use strong passwords and regularly update them.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By following these steps and having open and honest conversations with your children, you can help them navigate the internet safely and responsibly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t forget to Drop Off and Drop In for our coffee morning on Wednesday at 8am in the MPR.
