 <\/p>\n

As the end of Term 1 fast approaches, I am so pleased that we have enjoyed such a positive response to the FOBISIA Friendly Games and will be fielding FULL teams in each of the 3 competitions with over 60 students getting to enjoy the excitement, challenge and fun that FOBISIA events offer.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the past, KIS have also had students enter FOBISIA Invitational events such as swimming, climbing and golf. These events present students who specialise in specific sports the opportunity to compete against their peers from across the Asian region.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was back in March 2019, when we had our last FOBISIA Golf team attend the Golf Invitational event hosted by Shrewsbury Bangkok and held at the world class facility of Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shrewsbury are again hosting the event at Black Mountain, which will take place between 15th-17th March, 2023. Whilst I am not sure if we will have the numbers this year to form a KIS Golf team to compete, I have been in touch with the organisers and if there are students interested in competing it is possible to be registered by KIS but travel accompanied by a parent.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you have a child who is a serious and competitive golfer who may like to attend and want to know more, then please get in touch either by phoning the school or by email cwatt@kis.edu.my<\/a>, or simply catch me in school some time.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next term, Fraser Pook and his team of golf coaches will again be running their sessions at \u201cShank Junkies\u201d at T1 Bundusan for both beginner and more experienced golfers alike as part of the ECA programme on Wednesday afternoons.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

KIS Cup<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After a lengthy period of rain interruptions and impromptu public holidays, the Year 3 and 4 teams finally got to play some football this week!<\/p>\n

The games were frantic as the ball moved from end to end with a lot of exciting attacking play and some top tackles and saves in defense. Points were shared across the nations with The Netherlands, Mexico and Argentina all picking up wins while Australia played out a draw with Argentina to share the points.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Just like the Men\u2019s World Cup, we will have a nervous wait to see which of the teams will progress through to the semi-finals following the last week of round games on Monday.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The current standings are as follows:<\/p>\n

\"\"The Year 5\u2019s and 6\u2019s completed their round robin stage of the competition on Thursday with each team having played two matches against each other.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the round robin competition the standings are as follows:<\/p>\n

This means that England have booked themselves a direct entry into the Year 5 and 6 Final, while France and Brazil will tussle it out in the semi-final to see who proceeds.<\/p>\n

We have had a few parents come down and cheer on from the sidelines which is wonderful and if you would like to catch any of the remaining games then see the schedule of remaining games below.<\/p>\n
