They are what they are, unhelpful.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, I would like to share these recommended strategies on how we can beat unhelpful thoughts to make our lives happier and more productive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Label the thoughts &#8211; <\/strong>Label the thought as an unhelpful one.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>By labelling the thought, it will be easier for you to not give it too much attention.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Place the unhelpful thoughts in the corner of your brain<\/strong> &#8211; Practice to push away the thought and not give it attention.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stand up to the bully<\/strong> &#8211; Just like a bully, unhelpful thoughts say bad things about you that are not true. They appear strong and loud. Ignore them and \u2018walk away\u2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Give yourself a break<\/strong> &#8211; i) Talk to someone about it ii) Say it out loud and think about how a person that loves you, will respond to those thoughts iii) Also, reflect on how you will respond to the person you love, when they share these negative thoughts with you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Listen to this 7 minute audio for further guidance on this topic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WzPb9jT9aEE\">Moodzone<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Just like other good habits, shutting down unhelpful thoughts needs practising.
