All rounded off with a wonderful end-of-year assembly where we celebrated many students who have made Outstanding Progress, have a Super Attitude to Learning and a Heart of Gold (voted for by the students).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A huge thank you to all the staff who helped to make these days so fabulous. A special mention to Sharon Fulat, Sarah Adams and Dougal Fletcher. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered with the Arts Day and a huge congratulations to all the performers at KIS Has Talent, you were incredible!<\/span><\/p>\n

As we come to the end of another successful year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support which has enabled us to do our best for your children. I feel very privileged and proud to have had the opportunity to lead the primary school and my job has been made that much easier by working with such a fantastic team of people. A big thank you to the primary team and especially to Mrs Garrick and Mr Beresford for their support, laughs and giggles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been a pleasure to celebrate all your children\u2019s achievements every week, presenting Stars of the Week as well as House Point certificates during our celebration assemblies. We have celebrated and recognised our writers, mathematicians, scientists, eco-warriors and artists to name but a few of the children\u2019s talents. The children\u2019s excellent attitude, resilience and commitment to learning never fails to impress me and this has to be attributed to the strong parent teacher relationships that we all try so hard to create and maintain. Thank you to all the students who took on Leadership roles this year and performed them so passionately. This shows that our children are more than their academic success, they are polite, kind, respectful and responsible which tells me how much they gain from your support at home and ours at school. Our shared set of values is what makes our school successful and a very special place to be.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of you who are saying goodbye to KIS, I wish you every happiness and best wishes for the future. Good luck to our fantastic Year 6 students who are moving onto secondary. I hear that they were quite a hit during their transition days this week!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Science day was a fun-filled event, which we hope your child came home from filled with excitement and bursting with the desire to tell you all about it! The theme of ‘Rockets, Robots and Renewables’ ran across the whole school. The primary children visited Years 6-9 to talk to them about projects they have been working on, read their display boards and look at their models. It was so much fun watching and helping judge the competition before lunch: seeing which boats could stay in a straight line, which mechanics could move the heaviest load and which vehicles could travel the furthest.\u00a0 They had an interesting assembly focusing on space history and robotics over time and had the ever popular activity of transforming bottles into rockets that would travel as high and far as possible. Some nearly reached the road and one went onto the roof! They each made a ‘bot’ too (not quite a robot, strictly speaking, but an introduction to robotics) which created much excitement! A big thank you to Year 10 students for their help across the primary school. The group I worked with were great at asking the younger children just the right questions to help them problem solve for themselves. I’m already looking forward to next year’s science day!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The whole of the primary school took part in a fabulous Art Day on Thursday. The children got the opportunity to be both collaborative with their artist skills as well as work on individual art pieces in a range of activities set up by different teachers on a rotation. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The students also took part in pop art activities (organised and run by the wonderful IN department and volunteer parents) and a collective splatter canvas – which was a big hit! <\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the day the whole school was entertained by the superb talents of our students in ‘KIS Got Talent’. It was a wonderful day and the children went home feeling very creative.<\/span><\/p>\n
