The students made an online pledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our KIS Online Pledge:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We check age restrictions on websites we visit.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We keep personal information private.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We respect others\u2019 privacy online.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We take a break from screens and enjoy other activities.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We use kind words in all online communication.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We speak to a trusted adult about anything online that upsets us.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We think carefully before sharing or forwarding anything online.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We use the Internet to help us learn and play.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can help by ensuring your child follows this at home as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A huge congratulations to the Primary Student Council who raised a massive RM600 at their Bric-a-Brac sale last weekend at the Car Boot Sale. Enjoy sharing the day\u2019s happenings with friends.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>You are encouraged to drink plain water rather than sweet or soft drinks while having your meal.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>If you are planning to buy some food from the canteen, you should finish your food before buying.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Take the right amount of food during snack time so that your stomach is not full when it\u2019s lunchtime.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Year 2s travelled across to Gaya Island on Friday to visit the Marine Ecology Research Centre (MERC) to see and learn more about the reefs and marine life found here in Borneo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We were able to enjoy the educational display of reefs and marine life in the visitor\u2019s centre and hear from the experts about the corals and their importance in the ecosystem. The Year 2s were also lucky enough to see and touch a variety of marine animals like starfish and sea cucumbers in the touch tank.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also learned about the important work that MERC are doing with the giant clam cultivation and coral replanting. The Year 2s even planted their own coral to help our recovering reefs.
