[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Well, the competition has come to a close, the minutes and meters have all been tallied up, and it is time to announce the BIG Winners of our latest Get up and MOVE Challenge! I have been getting asked all week \u201cwho won?\u201d. \u201cDid the parents win again?\u201d. \u201cWhy don\u2019t the Staff get double the distance for being the smallest team?\u201d \u201cCan I stop now Miss Watt?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While the answer to the last question is of course an emphatic \u201cNo!\u201d as we should all continue to find ways to enjoy being active in order to always look after our health and well-being. You can now stop taking screenshots of your runs, walks and sending in photos of your football games or scuba diving fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before the big reveal, I would like to acknowledge some of the efforts of those in each group who have led the way in supporting their teams progress first to reach \u2018the top\u2019 of Mount Kinabalu, then \u2018summit\u2019 Everest and even more!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the competition amongst our three Houses; Gaya, Sapi and Sulug it was virtually a one horse race right from the start. Gaya took the lead early and never really let it go. Consistent efforts from Gaya Secondary House President, Freya meant that they only continued to extend their lead over the other two houses each week.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Each house will be awarded points to go towards their respective Primary and Secondary House Competitions. Well done to all the students who supported their houses by logging their exercise each week. All students who took part will also be awarded with 2 Dojos or 2 Merits for their efforts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I imagine some of the more impatient individuals (the current PTA Chairwoman perhaps as one example) may have just scrolled through and ignored all the information above just to get to this part. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Which team will be crowned the winners of the KIS Get up and Move Challenge – The Sequel 2021?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mount Kinabalu wasn\u2019t enough of a challenge.\u00a0 Nor was Everest as it transpired at 8849m. In fact, our winning team managed to accumulate nearly 15, 000m or minutes of movement throughout the month-long challenge. A fantastic effort!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So without further ado, the final results for the Get up and MOVE Challenge are…..<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations to the new Champions, KIS Students on wrestling the title from your very highly competitive parents!! We will certainly look to bring back the Get up and MOVE Challenge again in the new year. Will the Staff be able to get their first Victory? I certainly hope so!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thank you again to all those who got into the spirit of the competition. I am very pleased that it was able to spark so much positive interest within the community. The importance of taking part in regular physical activity in maintaining good health, physical well-being, and not forgetting positive mental well-being as well, is tremendous. I therefore hope that this challenge, as well as being a bit of fun and friendly competition amongst houses and households alike, also served to remind us all of the importance and benefits of forming lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
