[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Get up and Move Challenge – Climb Mount Kinabalu<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In last week\u2019s newsletter I launched our latest community physical activity challenge. The aim of which is to see which Team can accumulate enough \u2018meters\u2019 through moving to reach the summit of Mount Kinabalu the fastest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This challenge will be ongoing through the remainder of the term, or, until we see which team plants their flag at the top first!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some of the teams have gotten off to a shall we say \u2018conservative\u2019 start but I am sure will pick up momentum over the next week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I may be somewhat biased, but the Staff team have made a rather impressive start and at the time of writing already travelled a grand total of 570m up the mountain! At this rate they could even reach the headquarters of Kinabalu Park by the end of the weekend – great effort Team Staff!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Leading by example for the staff team is Ms. Hitchen having already logged an impressive 190m from 190 minutes of movement during the week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Parents, you had better not wait till the 22nd of November to get moving or you could find yourselves with too much ground to make up!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If we look only at the three House Teams separately, then Sulug have started strongly with 208m accumulated through the collective efforts of Year 13 students. Followed closely by Gaya and the individual efforts of Wilbur in Year 13! Sapi will need to get their sport shoes on over the weekend and get a move on as they are currently trailing in 3rd place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am sure that many of our school community members, staff, students and parents, will be involved in an array of fun physical activities over the course of the weekend. So, to support your \u2018Team\u2019, don\u2019t forget to take a photo or video of yourselves in action and then log your details by going to <\/span>www.kis.edu.my\/upload<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Just like climbing the mountain, just keep placing one foot in front of the other KIS, and keep on <\/span>MOVING<\/i><\/b> towards that summit goal!<\/span><\/p>\n
