The KIS Biggest Winner<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Well, the workouts have been completed, staff and students alike have sweated and succumbed to the pain of muscles they may\u00a0 not have even realised they still had after the long lockdown, and students in Years 7-10 have been completing their end of unit fitness tests. Assessing what improvements they have made over the course of the last 6 weeks and identifying areas they may need to still improve on for future goal setting.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am sure the students have a greater understanding of why fitness should be a lifelong focus and we are confident that students have been able to increase their understanding of not only how to create effective workouts to improve their own fitness, or that of another. But also the value that paying attention to some of the key health related components of fitness such as cardiovascular endurance and muscular endurance can have on their general health and ability to perform daily tasks.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We should all strive to ensure that we are finding enjoyable ways to partake in physical activity that will support the development of our physical well-being. Whether that be going on walks, playing futsal with friends, scuba diving, yoga or paddle boarding. We are so fortunate to live in an environment and community that allows us to have such a wonderful array of outdoor pursuits to enjoy and keep us active and healthy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Congratulations to the following students for being recognised by their teachers as being some of the \u201cbiggest winners\u201d throughout the unit for their effort, participation and demonstration of knowledge and understanding of the topics covered.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who volunteered to go where \u2018no KIS staff\u2019 have gone before and put themselves bravely at the mercy of the students. We hope that you have enjoyed receiving the weekly workouts and they have given you some ideas and motivation for keeping active at home.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here are a few special mentions from some of the classes to the following staff to acknowledge their efforts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mr. Watson for his supreme confidence and desire to challenge himself as demonstrated by his feedback of, “I am a machine. I need more than 40s or more than two rounds”.<\/p>\n

Miss Christina for completing THE MOST workouts across any of Mr. Bromley\u2019s three classes – Great effort!<\/p>\n

Ms. Hitchen for her steadfast commitment to her training and valuable feedback to her group each and every week.<\/p>\n

Mr. Gross for being the only staff member (that I know of) to complete his workouts in a suit!<\/p>\n

Mr. \u2018one group is not enough\u2019 Bryant and his \u2018willingness\u2019 to be trained by not just one group, but TWO!<\/p>\n

Miss Colley for her initial seed of an idea from which The Biggest Winner grew!<\/p>\n

The AIMS Virtual Olympics<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next week is the last chance for students to enter the AIMS Virtual Olympics and see if they can take a position on one of the event leaderboards.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I know some students have been submitting entries this week, but we will have to wait for the weekly update over the weekend to see if there will be any notable changes involving KIS students.<\/p>\n
