We wish them all the best of luck.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to Mrs Hallas who, as Examinations Officer, has coordinated, managed and supervised all the exams since April. Also thank you to Mr Lim who has been stringent and meticulous in his supportive role of organising the set-up of the exam rooms and invigilating the students. I hope that students and examination staff will have a well-deserved and peaceful weekend. Our Year 12 students are now free to have a longer break before they either return to KIS in August, or move on to pastures new. We have had a few inquiries as to whether we are still accepting applications to Year 12; the answer is \u2018yes\u2019 and if any of our Year 11s who had originally decided to leave have had a change of mind they should contact Ms Tina Koroh (tinak@kis.edu.my) in the first instance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Monday we welcome back Year 12 as they embark on a three day programme of online workshops, centered on university preparation and guidance. In all, there are eight workshops ranging from \u2018how to register on the different university platforms\u2019 through to advice on \u2018scholarships and funding\u2019.\u00a0 These workshops will allow our students to complete a significant part of the university application process before the summer holiday, in turn helping to alleviate some of the pressure from the start of the new academic year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When creating the school calendar it is important that every available day is fully utilised and no time is wasted. To this end, Year 12 will resume their normal timetabled lessons as soon as the university workshops have been completed. Even though I am sure our Year 12 students would enjoy an extended break, especially after their AS exams, it will mean they receive at least 10 hours of direct teaching in each A2 subject before we finish on the 30<sup>th<\/sup> June. These lessons will provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the A2 content and will help to support the transition into Year 13.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Read on to see what the fabulous \u2018Words of the Week\u2019 are for this week; there are some really rare and unusual offerings this week!
