[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Every week is a busy week in school but this week has been a particularly busy one for us all. I have really enjoyed being in the classroom more than usual this week and have had the opportunity to teach English to Mrs Mullan\u2019s wonderful class. I have also been teaching in Year 5 and it\u2019s been a great learning opportunity for me to actually experience teaching while following our SOP. The children all do a great job of keeping their masks on during the school day and work hard at maintaining physical distancing and following the arrows around school. It\u2019s amazing how established routines quickly become second nature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the course of the week I have spent time with all of the Key Stage 2 children while they completed an assessment for learning survey. As I have previously mentioned, assessment for learning is a key priority for the school this year and I was intersected to find out more about the children\u2019s thoughts and opinions about this. Currently, the primary teaching staff are working together in learning communities to develop their practice by looking at different areas of formative assessment. This is something that we will continue to develop throughout the year and I look forward to surveying the children again at the end of the year as their understanding and knowledge of assessment for learning develops too.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Next Friday, the End of Term 2 Primary Reports will be emailed home to you. As always, if you have any questions about the content of your child\u2019s report please do contact your class teacher. Teachers assess and track pupil progress using a four point scale to assess each child\u2019s understanding of the <\/span>end of year key objectives<\/b>. At this point in the year we would expect children to be Developing and possibly in a few areas of strength Secure based <\/span>on end of year expectations<\/b> as they continue to cover the English National Curriculum objectives.<\/span><\/p>\n
