[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This week I have been privileged to see some of the work that our students have been achieving during the MCO. Teachers have been working very hard to provide exciting stimulus material and guidance and the results have, in some cases, been astonishing. Mr Bryant sent me several examples of Year 9 video monologues and I have to say they were staggeringly good, in particular the work of Tobias Lo and Leya Razak. Well done! Again in Drama, I co-invigilated a written test that Year 11 students were taking to provide evidence to support their grades. Whilst we seem to spend a lot of time finding fault with the technology that we use, to me it is pretty miraculous that I can watch what students are writing, in real time, as they sit in their homes and I sit in mine, through Google Docs! \u00a0In this newsletter read on to see some work that Year 10 Business students have been doing in adapting and creating company logos to suit the current world that we live in. The one I particularly like is \u2018Stay Single Pringles\u2019! Thank you to Ms Corbishley for these.<\/p>\n

On Monday Year 12 students will be commencing their Year 13 courses. I know that they are keen to get started and wish them well with that. Year 11 will start A Level work on June 2nd<\/sup>, after half term.\u00a0 Please remember that even if your child is not staying at KIS for Year 12, they can still join these lessons. They just need to complete the form that Mr Barker has sent out to them.<\/p>\n

This week and last we have been looking at ways to proceed with our CIS accreditation process. Our team leaders have made an excellent start with the self-review and this has stood us in good stead considering the hiatus over recent weeks. \u00a0On Thursday last week we had a conference call with Mr Eric Jabal from CIS and we considered the way forward with him and with the steering committee on Wednesday this week. The end result is that the process will continue for KIS with some slight changes to the time-line with the aim of adhering to the original date of next March for the team visit. The Council of International Schools has been very understanding of the situation that schools find themselves in world wide.<\/p>\n

In light of the coronavirus many businesses are seeking to reassure customers about the actions they are taking to ensure customer safety.<\/p>\n

The challenge was to communicate this socially responsible attitude by adapting their normal logo. I think you can agree that their designs are very creative indeed and get their message across effectively.<\/p>\n
