Last weekend we held our first Staff Development Day on Saturday, this was a great opportunity for staff to learn from the expertise of each other across many different topics. The focus centred around Teaching & Learning and the Use of Technologies in School. In the afternoon we developed mental and physical wellbeing and staff across the school came together to unwind through badminton, table tennis, walking, exercising and sharing. Another group of staff were in the swimming pool becoming qualified lifesavers, they had a successful two day course being led by Mr Bromley. It was an enjoyable day for our professional learning community.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Wednesday morning was a lovely celebration for Chinese New Year and our thanks to the PTA and many parent sponsors who helped to make the occasion such an enjoyable day. Well done to everyone for getting into the spirit and dressing for the event. Chinese celebrations continued yesterday with the very interactive Chinese New Year themed assembly.<\/p>\n

As we go into the holidays, if you are travelling to the sea, please be aware of jelly fish as there has been an increase in their presence. If you are travelling around the region take care of your general health, try to keep away from crowded areas, use hand sanitiser and if you start to get flu-like symptoms please do visit a Doctor to make sure you are OK and get further advice.<\/p>\n

Due to the nature of CNY with travelling and having visiting family members, when we return to school (Monday 3rd February) we will set up a temperature station at the front gate. Everyone entering the school will have their temperature taken. Anyone with a temperature of 37.8C or above will not be allowed to enter school and must visit their local Doctor for further advice. This will take place across the first 10 days of school; we apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.<\/p>\n

Finally, an update on some staffing news with a focus on our Grounds and Maintenance staff. Congratulations to Mr Rosman on the wonderful news of the birth of his new daughter last week. We also congratulate and wish Mr Amrey well following his Wedding Day yesterday. And lastly, we are sorry to see Ms Dorothy leave us recently and wish her well.<\/p>\n
