[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It has been an incredibly busy week in school, culminating in the Celebration Assembly yesterday where we gave out more bronze and silver merit certificates than ever before, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Mathematics Awards and Global Goals Day Awards. We were treated to inspirational musical performances from Celine, Roshween and Zen [such talented students!] and we had the opportunity to watch a superb professionally produced video of the U15 Games which featured our extremely busy boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 teams.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>We also held our annual Key Stage 3 Spellathon final, with these students battling it out:<\/p>\n

7K Miky<\/p>\n

7S Celine<\/p>\n

8K Amos<\/p>\n

8S Nicholas<\/p>\n

9S Dylan<\/p>\n

9K Marc<\/p>\n

It was a hard won fight but the Overall winner was Celine Hiew, who took home the Spellathon Champion 2019 Trophy. Well done Celine!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Students then gathered in their form rooms to celebrate the end of an eventful term with parties. This was also the time to say farewell to our leavers. It is always say to say goodbye to good friends and in some cases whole families; each of them leaves us having left their positive mark upon the school.\u00a0 We wish them all the best in their new schools, and in some cases, new countries.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It just leaves me to say many thanks to all of our students, parents and staff for everything that you have contributed to such a successful term 1.<\/p>\n

Head of Secondary<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”11923,11922,11921,11915,11912,11911″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”2″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Year 7 History Trip” google_fonts=”font_family:Rubik%20One%3A400|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“On the 11th of December, 2019, Year 7 and 4 teachers went for a trip to the Sabah Museum. We arrived there at 9:30. For the first hour, 7S visited the museum and 7K, the kampung (local village) houses, medicine garden, old cars, and railway museum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the museum, we jotted down notes and explored the exhibits. Once the hour was over, we had a break, then swapped over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

First, we looked at the medicine gardens. My favourite medicinal plant is called Aloevera chinesis\u00a0and is used in traditional medicine. Then, we trekked to the houses. To reach the kampung houses, we had to overcome a mossy, descending hill, and it was difficult not to slip. Inside the houses, many of us bought souvenirs. After that we visited the railway museum and the old cars. Imagine our surprise when we found out that one of the trains on display was called Gaya!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Very soon, it was the end of the day, and, reluctantly, we left the museum. I hope we will visit the museum again, and I’m sure my fellow classmates think so too!”<\/span><\/p>\n
