Dear KIS Community,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who was able to visit the Book Fair this week; the sale of books has also supported our libraries. Not to worry if you didn\u2019t have the chance to pop in; we will be having another Book Fair later in the school year.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Whilst I was unable to attend the Ubuntu 2<\/span>nd<\/span> Global Warming Exhibition last week, I understand it was a great success with nearly two hundred people in attendance. Thank you to Mr Barker for giving a welcome speech and a huge well done to Grace (and friends) in Year 8 for working so hard to organise the event. I was delighted to see Grace on Monday when she presented, on behalf of the organisers, RM 3000 to KIS. I have promised Grace, in the spirit of the exhibition, that this donation will be used to support environmental projects across the school.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You may have noticed staff and students wearing red flowers (poppies) this week. Next Monday the 11<\/span>th<\/span> November is also known as Remembrance Day. This is a time that we remember all of those men and women who have fallen during conflicts around the world and the sacrifice they made for us. All monies raised from the recent Poppy Appeal will go to support the upkeep of the Sabah and Labuan Memorials. We will be having a brief Remembrance Assembly on Monday just after the first break.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As we are now in the month of November, we are getting ready for the KIS Annual General Meeting. The AGM will take place on Thursday 28<\/span>th<\/span> November after drop-off. Save the date for your diary and please make the time to come and be a part of the future of our school. Your input is very much welcome (and wanted).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Having spent the last couple of days at the FOBISIA Heads Conference, I look forward to coming back home and seeing you all on Monday. The conference has been an excellent opportunity to share ideas, improve awareness and make contact with other like-minded schools and educators to support the learning and wellbeing of our students and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n
