Saturday 6th February

Dear KIS Community,

I wish to thank all our students, staff, and parents. This past week has not been particularly easy for many of us and I wish to express my gratitude for the manner in which our community has come together and supported each other at a time that has been particularly challenging.

I have refrained from using the phrase ‘the new normal’ on many occasions and again will reiterate that I look forward to when we can continue as we usually do. The school grounds and buildings have been thoroughly cleaned and I thank our staff who have been a part of this process. Next week we look forward to the Chinese New Year and the long-awaited change that it may bring.

From the calendar, the planned staff development day will still go ahead, though in a virtual environment, and as previously published, we will start online lessons on Thursday 18th February, Friday 19th will also be online. Much will be dependent on announcements for the MCO and we will of course communicate with you regarding any return to school shortly after the CNY when possible.

We will be having a CNY assembly next week on Wednesday morning and details will be published accordingly. It is a whole school assembly via zoom and it will be a great opportunity to see the school together. I look forward to seeing you all there.

As always, stay safe and have a lovely weekend.

Gong Xi Fa Cai.
