From the Head of Primary 24.02.2024

I hope this message finds you well-rested and filled with the warmth of cherished family moments from the recent Chinese New Year festivities. It’s delightful to welcome everyone back after what I hope was a lovely holiday break.

Our children have returned to school with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, diving straight back into their learning endeavours with admirable resilience. The first week back has been nothing short of fantastic, with students immersing themselves in various activities and embracing the joys of exploration and discovery.

I am thrilled to report that the Year 4 showcase held on Friday was an absolute triumph! It was a testament to the dedication and hard work of both our exceptional staff and the incredibly talented children who put on a stellar showcase. Their efforts truly showcased the creative and academic excellence we strive for at KIS.

In celebrating our students’ achievements, I would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to our “Stars of the Week,” as well as the winners of our “Trashless Class” and “House Point awards” from our recent celebration assembly. Their commitment to excellence and positive contributions to our school community is truly commendable.

During our assembly this week, we addressed the important topic of bullying, providing valuable insights into recognizing and addressing such behaviour. It’s crucial that our children feel safe and supported, and we’re dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where everyone feels respected and valued. If your child is facing any challenges related to bullying, please know that our doors are always open, and we’re here to support them, and you, every step of the way.

On that theme, Wednesday, February 28th we invite all parents to join us for a special coffee morning in the MPR, where we will discuss strategies for supporting your children through difficult times, including support on how to approach challenging conversations. Your participation and insights are invaluable, and we look forward to engaging in meaningful conversations together.

Lastly, a friendly reminder about our Eco Warriors Recycling event taking place today. It’s another fantastic opportunity for our students to contribute to environmental sustainability and make a positive impact on our planet.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can continue to nurture a thriving learning community where every child flourishes.

Warm regards,

Mark Beresford
