Welcome back everyone! The week before Chinese New Year was filled with exciting learning experiences and celebrations. Year 6 had the privilege of learning from local graffiti artist Adam, who shared his expertise and passion for street art. Phey, known for his stunning work on our primary building’s stairwells, inspired our students to unleash their creativity and express themselves through different art styles.

Adding to the excitement, the PTA recently hosted a mesmerising Chinese New Year lion dance performance on the basketball court. It was a vibrant celebration of culture and tradition, enjoyed by students and staff alike. Thank you to them for organising a great celebration and something I know the children will remember.

In our assembly this week, we took the time to recognize our outstanding ‘Stars of the Week,’ who have demonstrated exemplary behaviour and academic achievement. Additionally, we celebrated the success of our winning houses and acknowledged the efforts of our ‘Trashless Class,’ promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.

Our discussions also centred on Chinese New Year, fostering a deeper understanding of this important cultural event. Furthermore, we emphasised the significance of positive relationships, encouraging students to consider the impact of their words on others and to use kindness in their interactions.

As we embrace the festivities of Chinese New Year, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all our families and staff. May the Year of the Dragon bring prosperity, strength, and success to you and your loved ones.

Finally, I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved and restful half-term break. We eagerly anticipate welcoming our students back to school on Monday, 19th February, refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.

Warm regards,

Mark Beresford
