From the Head of PE and Sport 26.09.2020

This week’s newsletter is a flash back to the end of last year and recognising the achievements of those students who were awarded the Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year Awards as well as the inaugural Junior Sportswoman and Sportsman of the year.

We were able to acknowledge and celebrate their wonderful achievements in the celebration assemblies. However, with our Primary students not in school at the end of the year, they could not be presented with their awards. This week, I was able to present the winners, Leroy (7K) and Sophie (7S) with their awards in front of their form groups.

Shelving is planned to be placed outside the Sports Hall entrance in order to be able to display the plaques and other House and FOBISIA sports awards on a permanent basis.

I am sure that we will once again have a lot of talented athletes in the running for taking out the honour of Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year, as well as Junior Sportsman and Junior Sportswoman in 2020-21. Those who dream of having their names engraved on the plaques will need to prove themselves to be not only capable athletes but also demonstrate the KIS core values of respect in demonstrating sportsmanship qualities, as well as leadership within PE and Sport both at school and out of it.
