Attention all Eco Warriors…

Student AND PARENT Applications to join the KIS Eco Schools Committee!

As you are aware, KIS has been participating in the Eco-Schools international programme of environmental and sustainable developmental education for schools since 2019. At the heart of the programme is a structured ‘change management’ process called THE SEVEN STEPS, used by schools to work towards continuous improvement in environmental action.

Currently, the programme is being implemented in over 50 countries around the world, involving more than 40,000 schools.

KIS was awarded the Bronze level award in 2021 and we are obviously aiming for the top  ‘Green Flag’ award!

To achieve this we require an Eco Committee which consists of 4 students from Primary and 4 students from Secondary. The committee meets approximately three times a year and sets the agenda for the meeting, chairs and minutes it, and leads the discussion.

As a committee we have chosen 3 areas area for action:

• Litter
• Water
• Energy saving

We also require a member who is a PARENT! 

If you would like to apply for a position on the committee then can you please apply in writing by the 31st of August to the eco-com@kis.eduj.my  email address telling us why you want to be part of the committee.

Your application letter will be reviewed by the Eco warriors and a decision will be made accordingly. We will let you know by the 9th of September and the first committee meeting will take place around the end of September.
