KIS Fun Run
Saturday 4th July saw the first ever KIS Fun Run at the Tun Fuad Stephens Community Park. It was a very early start but over 130 students and parents turned up with smiles on their faces ready for the event. All participants did well to complete either 2km, 4km or 6km on the difficult and hilly route and were cheered on by KIS staff, PTA members and the boys/girls’ brigade band. Mohammed Al Zabidi and Chloe Combe were the fastest runners in the 2km event; Dougie Charleston, Kon Yi and Sarah Gannicott were the fastest in the 4km event and Alley Andersen and Kate Garside came out top in the tough 6km run. The event was finished with awards back at school and some refreshments and face painting organised by the PTA. A great finish to the KIS sporting calendar for this year!
The event raised a total of RM 2,389.86, which will be split equally between two charities supported by KIS. RM1194.93 will be donated to the families of the guides who lost their lives on Mount Kinabalu in the earthquake; and the other half will go to Book Reach, a project which promotes literacy in Nepal.
As always, photos of the event can be found on our Flickr pages.
