Year 13 Graduation Ceremony

Year 13 Graduation Ceremony

Kinabalu International Schoolโ€™s A Level students celebrated the end of their studies with a Graduation Ceremony at the Theatre at Sutera Harbour Marina on June 11th.

The evening celebrated the many achievements of the graduating class of 2018, through musical performances, speeches and the presentation of graduation certificates. The guest speaker for the evening, Ms Cynthia Ong, Executive Director of LEAP, gave an inspirational speech which addressed students and parents. She took as a starting point what she imagined that she, as a 17 year old, would have wanted to hear on such an occasion and that led into an insightful overview of privilege and making choices to create the kind of life that you want for your own future, and for the future of the world. On behalf of the graduating students Lois Ametu and Vinay Murthy, the Head Prefects, delivered their speech, which thanked their parents, teachers and classmates for supporting them through their education.

The graduating students have already received offers from top universities around the world and now await their final A Level results in August. KIS is now in its sixth year of delivering the worldโ€™s most widely recognised pre-university course and its results have been consistently above the UK average. Frequently, KIS students received High Achievement Awards, such as Top in World and Top in Country from Cambridge Assessment International Education.

For more on the A Level programme attend the schoolโ€™s Open Day on Tuesday, 19th June at 9am.
