Supporting Y13 University Applications
Although our Year 13 students have only recently started their A2 courses, now is the time that they have to start to think seriously about the next stage in their academic careers as they move onto tertiary education in 2016. At KIS we support and assist our students in the management of their university applications and a comprehensive programme, which starts in Year 12, is an integral part of that process. Our University Admissions Day took place last Thursday and students spent dedicated time building upon past work in this area: researching courses, starting the UCAS [for UK applications] process and fine-tuning personal statements. Some students will decide to take a Gap Year….a year out of full time education. To be profitable it is important that this is also carefully planned for, and last July students listened to some KIS teachers recount the adventures that they encountered during their own gap years. On Thursday some Year 13 students considered plans for their own gap year after KIS!
