KIS Celebrates Annual International Day of Pink

Pink was definitely the colour at KIS recently as students, staff and parents celebrated the Annual International Day of Pink. The International Day of Pink originated in a Canadian school in 2008 as an anti-bullying protest and the idea has now spread to many countries and communities across the world.

This year the event at KIS saw a special lunch being cooked by members of the KIS parent community, as well as lessons being taught around the theme of tolerance and diversity. KIS Principal Mr Stuart McLay commented โ€˜KIS has a strong anti-bullying philosophy and curriculum time is dedicated to students throughout the school to promote quality relationships within a safe and respectful learning environment. Our support for the International Day of Pink is another way of raising awareness of these important social values which are integral to our mission.โ€™
