Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Adventurous Journeys
Recently 15 students from Years 10 – 13 completed their Adventurous Journeys for their Silver and Gold Awards. They persevered through some challenging weather conditions to complete their three or four day explorations near Mt Kinabalu. As well as trekking and cooking their own meals, they also looked into the effect of tourism in the area and had fun at Sabah Tea Gardens picking tea, learning how to use a blow – pipe and creating some very artistic batik work. They also learned about the death marches and actually completed part of the death march route into Ranau on the final day of their assessment. The students demonstrated very good teamwork and should be very proud of their achievements.
