Delivering Professional Development Opportunities to KIS Staff
At KIS we are committed to recruiting qualified, professional staff who are keen to develop their careers, be that in Teaching, Admissions and Marketing, Business Management or Teaching Support (to name but a few). Part of the fees paid by our students is allocated to a Professional Development budget for all staff at the school. Through our membership of the FOBISIA group (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) we have access to a wide range of CPD activities throughout the year and our school’s CPD Leader, Mrs Russell, recently met with colleagues from around the region. Here’s her report:
At KIS we are very proud of our long-standing commitment to ensuring that all of our teachers are kept up to date with the latest educational changes and initiatives and we are fortunate that FOBISIA has a very good continuing professional development network (CPD) which has been running for a number of years now. I recently met with other CPD leaders in Kuala Lumpur from the Bruneian, Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean schools in the Federation to timetable the Job Alike Workshops (JAWs) for the next academic year along with discussing other CPD opportunities available to the teachers here at KIS. With over 30 JAWS happening in the region next year and other exciting opportunities in the pipeline our teachers have a lot to look forward to over the next 12 months.
