Community Service Project Supports Local Primary School
From Thursday 11th June to Saturday 13th June, sixteen students from Years 10-12 travelled north to the Tip of Borneo to carry out a community service project at a local Primary school (SK Tiga Papan).
The students, accompanied by Mrs Conrad, Ms Semehen and Mr Dighton, all worked tirelessly to paint two classrooms and the outside wall of one of the classroom blocks to help improve the overall look of the school and ensure the wood was protected from the elements. Admittedly , there was often more paint on the students than on the walls , but this didn’t really matter in the end! The school was really pleased with the results and are keen to welcome KIS back again in the future.
Having given up their free time to take part is this community service project, the students were able to finish their visit with some time spent exploring and relaxing on the beautiful beaches at Tanjung Simpang Mengayau (The Tip of Borneo) and experiencing real long house living at Tampat Do Aman.
